Glorify…

every stripe.

every bruise.

every piece of flesh ripped from His body

every slap.

every splinter from the cross He bore.

every step He took towards Calvary.

every fall.

every second of ridicule.

every rock thrown.

every scornful laugh.

every hammer blow.

every bead of sweat.

every drop of blood.

For without these, we are all lost.

Glorify Him for what He did. Don’t shed a tear in sorrow for..

HE’S ALIVE!!

CITRT Fantasy Baseball 2009

It’s that time of year again. Spring training has started!

I have formed a league on Yahoo Fantasy Sports.

League name: CITRT Baseball

League ID#: 230748

password: citrt2009

Make sure you choose to join the regular fantasy baseball, not the Plus version. Form your team and when the Join League option comes up choose to join an existing league and search for the name.

We have space for 14 teams which can be adjusted up or down depending on interest. We will be drafting using autodraft, so make sure you have your draft list set.

Good luck everyone and let’s have fun

Monday’s music goodness

Lala.com

Thanks to lala.com, here are the current songs I’m digging.

lala.com is great service. Signing up for a free account gets you 50 free songs that you can listen to from the web. You can also purchase MP3 downloads typically cheaper than iTunes.

Yes there is a Christian song in the list. Perhaps I’m not as sick of Christian music as I first thought. Maybe I just needed to expand my horizons and get away from my typical artist selections.

Where am I headed?

I love my life. I have a family, church, and job that I love. But there is a feeling inside of me that I am destined for more. Perhaps even something great. It’s as if God is pushing me to do something but I don’t know what that something is.

Psalms 74:11 says “Why don’t you do something? How long are you going to sit there with your hands folded in your lap?” I realize that was the writer talking to God. But I feel like God is saying it to me. I guess if I would get off my butt and start seeking Him a bit more I would find out what the “great something” I am destined for is.

I’m sick of Christian music.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate Christian music. I actually enjoy playing it every Sunday and worshipping. But I am sick of listening to it on a daily basis. And I think Christians that think that Christian music is all they should listen to need to rethink their music choices. We as insiders should not be so high and mighty that we totally ignore the things of the world. If we are going to help facilitate a Christ connection for others we must be able to connect with them on their level.

I’m not saying to switch your listening habits all together nor am I saying to go out and buy some Marilyn Manson.  But we need to expand our musical horizons. Run don’t walk to your local store and pick up some Kings of Leon, Coldplay, or anything else that strikes you. But stay away from the Christian section.

Climb of Mt. St. Helens

sthelens

We climbed Mt. St. Helens yesterday. However, we didn’t make it all the way to the top. We reached about the 5700′-5800′ mark (the summit is about 8300′) and after talking to an experienced climber realized the actual summit was still at least another 2 hours of climbing. At that point we decided that we were a bit to tired to continue.

Overall, it was a great experience. I am very happy and satisfied with what we accomplished and have no regrets that we didn’t reach the summit. After all we were climbing the more difficult route due to the fact that the other starting point was still snowed it. That’s right fellow Southerners, snow in July!

Vacation Time!

I’m off to Washington for vacation with the main goal of climbing Mt. St. Helens. Though I will be out in the Great Outdoors, I plan to use technology to document the trip. Below are links to different sites that I will be using and where anyone can see pictures, updates, etc.

A hiking we will go.

Today my dad and I went hiking to Sewanee Natural Bridge area and Buggytop Trial/Cave. We had a great time. I’m very proud of my dad and how he had really worked at getting into shape. He actually handled some of it better than me.

I had a bit of trouble on some parts. I believe I still think to much about my knee when walking over uneven ground. This is despite surgery having been 2 years ago this month. I don’t have any problems running so I know it’s strong enough. I’ve got to get past this thinking; I’ve got a mountain to climb in July.

Enjoy these pictures from today:
